November Education Seminar: Addressing Non-point Source Pollution in the Lake Wisconsin Watershed

The Lake Wisconsin Alliance (LWA) will host its final educational seminar for 2016 at the Lodi Women’s Club Public Library, 130 Lodi Street, on Tuesday, November 15th from 6:00-8:00pm.
Staff from the Columbia County Land and Water Conservation Department will provide an overview of some of the focused programming that has been used in the past to help target non-point source (agricultural and urban runoff) reductions in the Lake Wisconsin watershed. Some of the work completed includes water quality data collection, watershed inventory work, and most recently the collaboration with the City of Lodi with planning the implementation of an adaptive management non-point source reduction project for Lodi Spring Creek. This unique partnership will explore working with farmers within the watershed to install conservation practices that will reduce phosphorus runoff.
The Lake Wisconsin Alliance (LWA) is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization endeavoring to balance the diverse interests of the Lake Wisconsin community while improving water quality, recreational opportunities and sustaining a healthy ecosystem within the Lake Wisconsin watershed.
